There is obviously a lot of excitement around the iPad. Kleiner Perkins is doubling its iFund to launch more companies around the new device. And everyone from existing iPhone app developers and media companies is rushing to create iPad versions of their apps. As the screenshots leaked to us below show, you can add Gowalla to that list. I’ve confirmed the screenshots are real with CEO Josh Williams.

But why would you want geo-location check-in app on a huge iPad. It’s bad enough to have to pull out your iPhone every time you enter a restaurant or some other public gathering place. Pulling out the iPad will be much more conspicuous.

The bigger screen, however, does open up new possibilities for seeing calling up full menus at a ballgame, for instance, or photos that other people uploaded to Gowalla from that very same spot. A bigger screen is just better no matter what the app. Will Foursquare launch on the iPad as well?

Last Thursday saw the third edition of Plugg, a conference I started in my home country Belgium back in 2008 that essentially aims to launch and inspire European tech entrepreneurs and advance the startup ecosystem in these parts. The event is closely tied to TechCrunch, with myself as lead organizer and TechCrunch Europe editor Mike Butcher running things on stage.

We invited a host of speakers from all corners of Europe to deliver inspiring keynotes about a wide range of topics, and as every year had 20 (well actually, 19) startups vying for the top prize in an exhilarating pitching competition. All these startups were carefully selected and are some of Europe’s most promising early-stage ventures, so I invite you to take a look at the full list of finalists in our previous post.

In the end, Estonia’s Fits.me won the main award of the show, with RazWar snatching the audience choice prize and Distimo and Inbox2 as runners-up.

The blog Nonprofits and Web 2.0 was on hand and has posted several videos (a few of which I’ll embed below). There’s also a huge set of pictures in this Flickr album. As we noted originally, despite the funeral, IE6 is likely to live on for a few years as many sites are likely to still support it for the foreseeable future (though YouTube turns off support next week). And don’t forget all those pour souls in corporate jobs who are forced to use the browser because their IT departments won’t allow them to upgrade.

Microsoft itself is trying to get users to upgrade from IE6 (to their updated IE8), and the flowers that they sent to the funeral speak to that. The card sent with the flowers read: “Thanks for the good times, IE6. See you all @ MIX, where we’ll show a little piece of IE heaven. The Internet Explorer Team @ Microsoft“

P90X is what I started out with, and one that I recommend to everyone because of how much I believe the program works! I got amazing P90X results, and if you haven’t seen my P90X before and after photos yet, click here. The one thing that I really like about P90X is that it involves a balance of resistance and cardio training. I ended up losing 25lbs and 10% body fat during my first round of the program. During the second round, I had a new goal to gain mass with P90X, and that’s exactly what I did. I ended up putting back on 15lbs of muscle without gaining body fat! What about Insanity? Whenever people get through one or two rounds of P90X, they look for a program that will spice up their workouts, and that’s exactly what Insanity does! Warning, Insanity is SUPER INTENSE! There are some workouts that you will burn over a 1,000 calories in an hour, so this isn’t for beginners! You have to already be in decent shape to start this program. Insanity has both cardio and resistance workouts, but the resistance workouts involve only body weight, so if you’re looking to gain mass only, then Insanity wouldn’t be for you. However, if you’re looking to get cut and ripped, Insanity will help you burn the fat and reach your goals! Also, if you have knee or back problems, then you probably need to stay away from Insanity because of all the jumping around that’s involved. I like doing the Insanity cardio workouts and P90X resistance workouts, just so I have a balance of heavy resistance training and high intensity cardio training.
